solid choice for under-cabinet use
I'm very happy with this fixture. I purchased two of them for under-cabinet use in my kitchen and am happy with the result. I was able to use a normal line-voltage dimmer successfully and they dim correctly, with no flicker. The installation instructions were sparse, but it is put together well. The only note I would have is that it is very easy to over-tighten the romex clamp that comes with it and cause a short-circuit. Make sure to only hand-tighten the screw and you should be fine. Provides a great quality, even light. They do heat up the cabinet above them slightly when on full brightness - but when connected to a dimmer, the heat output is minimal, with virtually no heat reaching the counter-top. I would recommend this product.
Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

very good under-counter lights
Pluses: nicely sized models can fit under any cabinets--purchase the right lengths for you kitchen. Excelent quality. Accent or task lighting with Hi, Low, Off switches on each light. Mostly invisible once installed with clean, even light. Minuses: Installation not as easy as it might be. No fitting to connect from fixture to plug, so installation is for those comfortable with home wiring. Tips: Large, channel-lock pliers (with tape over jaws to protect fixtures) work as an efficient way to squeeze open the electrical box (instructions say just squeeze with hands--nope!) 3 1/2 inches back from insde front of cabinet to screw hole works about right--more and the light is too near the wall; less and the glass will be hard to slide in and out. If using the (expensive) connectors to install, allow 2 1/2 inches between fixture and side of cabinet. Otherwise, plan on at least one inch.
Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
